Backpack Revamps With Group Features

The latest update to Backpack includes multiuser accounts with intranet and shared calendar functions that may appeal to smaller businesses.

The crew at 37 Signals has been previewing the coming updates to Backpack, the online file and notes storage service. This week the curtain went up to reveal new functionality that includes multiuser accounts which opens to door to intranets, group calendars and message boards -- not to mention revamped pricing. This is the first significant update for Backpack since July and raised concerns about a lack of focus for Backpack.
