Microsoft Preps IE 8 For Beta
Monday, February 25, 2008
By bMighty.com Staff
Microsoft is close to releasing version 8 of its Internet Explorer browser to the developer community for feedback.
Redmond's goal: "to deliver improved standards support and backwards compatibility so that IE8 (1) continues to work with the billions of pages on the web today that already work in IE6 and IE7 and (2) makes the development of the next billion pages, in an interoperable way, much easier," said Microsoft general manager Dean Hachamovitch in a blog posting.
Internet Explorer 8 will be released in the first half of 2008. Microsoft is expected to disclose more details at next week's Mix conference.
