SMBs can save themselves hundreds of dollars on Adobe Systems' souped-up photo-editing tools when all they really need are such capabilities as cropping, touch-ups and color-enhancing tweaks and effects.

Adobe on Thursday rolled out a beta of Photoshop Express, an online app that can sign up for free on the software maker's Web site. Express comes with 2 GB of storage and works with all major browsers. Users also need Flash Player 9.

Even users with limited photo editing knowledge can simply select what looks best from a line-up of sample photos with visual hints showing different variations of the added effect, states Adobe's press release.
