Intel Unveils Mashup Tool

Intel has put into open beta a mashup tool that enhances users' Internet travels with customized information based on their preferences and interests.

Intel, "each mashup is composed of a number of Widgets -- mini applications that understand the meaning of the page they are on and can enhance it in interesting ways." An open application programming interface also allows users to write and share their own widgets and add them to other pages.

The new mashup tool works with Microsoft Internet Explorer 7 or higher, Mozilla Firefox 1.x, 2.x, 3 or higher, and Apple Leopard and Tiger running Firefox 1.x or higher, and runs on Windows and Linux systems.
