Intel to Bundle SSDs into New Montevina Platform

According to reports out of Taiwan, Intel is planning to launch solid-state drives (SSDs) by the end of the third quarter that will be bundled with its new Centrino 2 (aka Montevina) chips for notebook PCs.
The product line will be called the Intel High Performance SSD and will comprise two versions, Client X25-M and Client X18-M. The former will be 2.5 inches and the latter, 1.8 inches, and both will feature 80GB capacity and a SATA interface.
The report also said that Intel plans to increase storage capacities up to 160GB by the end of the fourth quarter, and to 250GB and above in 2009.
