SAP announced that it would broaden its PartnerEdge program in order to increase its presence in the small and midsize enterprise (SME) market and that it is working with IBM on a Business All-in-One prepackaged solution.

In data released at SAP's Sapphire users conference, the company revealed that just under 40 percent of its SME sales come through partners. "It is our intent to continue to increase the percent of revenue that is delivered through the channel while we continue to grow the [SME] pie," said Patricia Hume, senior vice president of SME indirect channel. The vendor will be inviting some 4,100 service and ISV partners to join PartnerEdge, which already has 4,500 resellers for the BusinessOne and Business All-in-One solutions.

Following on the heels of yesterday's announcement of an HP-based Business All-in-One product, SAP also announced that it was evaluating systems based on IBM Power Systems, System x, and BladeCenter servers that would include Business All-in-One, Novell's SUSE Linux and either the IBM DB2 or SAP MaxDB database.
