Mozilla Releases Firefox 3.1 Alpha
Wednesday, July 30, 2008
By bMighty.com Staff
Six weeks after Mozilla released the open-source Firefox 3 browser comes the alpha version of Firefox 3.1.
">
The browser, code-named Shiretoko, is built on top of the Gecko 1.9.1 rendering engine, which displays Web content and forms the core of the Web browser application. New features include filmstrip-like visual tabbed browsing using the Ctrl-Tab shortcut, the ability to restrict results that appear in the Smart Location Bar, Web standards improvement within Gecko, and a few aesthetic touches.
Shiretoko is aimed at developers and testers to help spot bugs and participate in the next Firefox's development, though anyone can give it a try.
