SMB spending on managed IP VPN services will more than triple by 2012, according to a new Light Reading report.
"SMBs need the flexibility and scaleability of a more robust networking solution," Carr said.
The need for more robust connections is driving that increase, according to Charles Carr, who co-authored the report, aimed at U.S network operators. (Light Reading is a bMighty.com sister site.) SMBs -- which "typically lack the necessary expertise and networking staff to implement the right network for today’s and tomorrow's needs" -- are expected to spend $6.5 billion on managed IP VPN services during the next five years, up from less than $2 billion in 2007, the report states.
"SMBs need the flexibility and scaleability of a more robust networking solution," Carr said.
