IBM Building Business Resiliency in the Cloud
Wednesday, August 20, 2008
By bMighty.com Staff
IBM is investing $300 million in constructing Business Resilience centers around the world to enable customers to access business continuity services from the cloud.
The build-out will start with 13 service delivery centers in 10 countries in 2008 and will eventually involve centers all over the world, from China to New Jersey. The centers are intended to help customers maintain or recover business operations and comply with regulations under adverse conditions and in the face of disaster.
The company also announced an increase in its Information Protection Services, which will enable customers to store their business data in data protection "vaults" based in the Business Resilience centers.
