Rumor: iPhone Will Allow Tethering
Friday, August 29, 2008
By bMighty.com Staff
An apparently legitimate e-mail from Steve Jobs says that Apple is in discussion with AT&T about allowing computers to use a "tethered" iPhone to get wireless Internet access.
A Gizmodo reader wrote to Steve Jobs pointing out that the iPhone does not allow tethering, while the BlackBerry does (with an additional charge from AT&T). An e-mailed reply from "Steve" and claiming to be sent from an iPhone says simply, "We agree, and are discussing it with ATT."
