An Effective Way to Get Your Business Tech Idea Some (Deserved) Attention
Posted by Naomi Grossman Wednesday, Feb 20, 2008, 12:00 PM ET
Smaller businesses often have great tech ideas or great tech products or great tech services that would help the business world -- but getting the word out about those ideas or products or services cost big bucks, right? Not always.
InformationWeek's John Foley has three ways that smaller businesses can make some business tech noise -- and they're all free.
Startups can sign up to be on a segment of IW's Startup City TV. The videos are played on IW, the Startup city blog, and bMighty frequently links to them as well.
IW also has a startup form that goes into the IW database. Foley says that the IW editors access the database for articles and blogs and to choose its "Startup Of The Week." That's exposure smaller businesses usually need to pay PR guys to get.
Lastly, Foley recommends that smaller businesses apply for a spot in the Software 2008 Conference's Innovation Showcase.
He says it's a "great way to get in front of business technology professionals and other industry influencers." He adds that the show's organizers "are looking for high-potential companies (not limited to startups) in the areas of software as a service, virtualization, collaboration, cloud computing, enterprise 2.0, open source, mobility, security, and analytics."
No more excuses. Get out there!
