Apple is upgrading and rebranding its .MAC service to be much more robust and business-friendly, with features that make it like Microsoft Exchange/Outlook, and other features that make like it like Google's GMail service.

Salesforce, Google Merge Their "Clouds"

What do Google Apps, Salesforce and Lava Lamps have in common? I'm not sure either, except that they all starred in a lavish lunch held this afternoon to announce the integration of the two on-demand software suites into a single "cloud computing" solution.

Amazon Had a Very Bad Day. But Keep Reaching for Those Clouds

Much was made of the problems Amazon's Web services had last week. Its data storage service was down for a few hours, leaving many smaller businesses in the lurch. Is cloud computing not the knight in Web storage armor small businesses had hoped for?
